Trail des Marcaires, 54km, 2600m+, 16th May 2021
The Trail des Marcaires is the oldest of the 3 races. The race leaves at 07:30 on Sunday the 16th May from the sports hall in Muhlbach sur Munster
The race will take you to some of the most beautiful areas of the Munster Valley. It climbs up the beautiful Wormsa valley passing the small lakes, Fischboedlé, Schiessrothried and Altenweiher.
You will arrive on the Hohneck, the highest point of the race with a 360° view over the valley on one side and the Swiss Alps on the other.

The race continues along the Vosges ridge line towards the Petit Ballon before heading back down to Muhlbach, where the traditional post race meal and local beer will be waiting for you.
The Trail des Marcaires is a competitive timed race and is not open to walkers. Racers must be experienced runners to take part. Finishers will be classified and prizes will be awarded according to the categories. The race takes place in open countryside with semi-autonomy along a marked route, between 437 and 1363m altitude and therefore competitors must be experienced runners to take part. While the course is marked, runners must be vigilant and navigate by following the markings.
The Trail des Marcaires is an official race for UTMB ranking points. Runners will gain 3 UTMB points.
