La P'tite Course & Marche des Marcaires
Sunday 31 May 09:30
12km 650 d+
The P'tite Course des Marcaires, not so easy as that, will take you just below the Petit Ballon to the Ilienkopf by trails and paths to the climb up to the German cemetery. From Ilienkopf to the finish, take a path parallel to that of 65 km and 34 km to complete the course and return to Muhlbach. This short but punchy race is a real little trail.
You will find the 2025 route on Petite Course des Marcaires
On this route you will take the famous valley of the Wormsa which represents a rather technical passage. You will arrive at Lake Fischboedlé, then the Schiessrothried lake, real gems of the valley. You will continue your ascent to the Hohneck, the highest point of the race which will offer you a 360 degree panorama and a view of the Swiss Alps. You can then continue your effort on the Vosges peaks before descending towards Lake Altenweiher, a fairly technical descent. You will go up towards the Koepflé, yet another small hill, following a narrow technical path in places. Then you will descend straight down the (very steep) slope to Mittlach to refuel before heading back in the direction of Sondernach and heading towards the finish, not forgetting the two final steep slopes.
The Défi de Muhlbach gives 2 ITRA points to finishers and has a UTMB index of 20k.
